MISSION
The Basque Maritime Forum is a non-profit-making body whose members are businesses, associations and institutions. Its mission is to render services to the Basque maritime industry and thereby to represent, defend, consolidate, promote and improve the competitiveness of that industry.
For these purposes, "businesses in the Basque maritime industry" are considered as those public and private limited companies whose registered offices lie within any of the three provinces of the Basque Autonomous Community, and whose main corporate purpose is the running of merchant or fishing vessels, shipbuilding, the manufacture of equipment for ships or the rendering of services to ships.
VISION
The Basque Maritime Forum seeks recognition from its members, institutions, technology centres and businesses as the organisation which brings together all the players in the Basque maritime industry, and which responds to their needs. It sets out to respond thus through the efficient, professional work and dedication of its personnel, so that the competitiveness of businesses is enhanced.
The Basque Maritime Forum seeks to be seen by society as an organisation which is committed to the social and economic development of Euskadi.
The Basque Maritime Forum seeks to be seen by public and private institutions as an interlocutor in all matters concerned with progress and the improvement of competitiveness among the businesses of the Basque maritime industry.
VALUES
The Basque Maritime Forum believes that the day to day work and performance of its personnel must be based on commitment, professionalism, team-work and the meeting of members' requirements.
"Commitment" is understood to mean a special relationship with the Basque maritime industry as a creator of wealth and well-being for society.
"Professionalism" is understood to refer to the skill and dedication with which the demands of members are met, and the search for excellence, competitiveness, efficiency and professional development.
"Team work" is understood to mean co-operation, respect for members, clear communication and availability.
QUALITY POLICY
Basic Principle
The quality policy of the Basque Maritime Forum is to meet the needs of the industry and concentrate on maritime interests as a priority.
Objectives of the Basque Maritime Forum
The Basque Maritime Forum sets out to be a meeting point for all players in the Basque maritime industry, where actions can be drawn up to make companies more competitive and sustainable in the long term, and thus foster the maritime culture.
Our Undertaking
We undertake to understand and respond satisfactorily to the requirements of our members; to help our members to work on the continuous
improvement of their production systems through the use of performance indicators; to set up a highly trained and motivated quality
committee which can prioritise quality; to select suppliers to introduce them into our quality chain; and to take corrective
and preventive action as appropriate to handle any problem which may arise.
Quality System
If we are to meet the goals set, our ISO 9002-based quality system must enable us:
- to identify areas of potential improvement and quality-related conflicts; and
- to modify any process which proves unsuitable for our quality system.
